Tomica Increase Price?

The market has is speculating on the new price to Takara Tomy (Tomica) cars. The price will be increased by 63% to RM12.90. official effective date on 16th June 2008.

A week before, my colleague told me the distributor at the local country already distributed new price structure to retailers, but I do not expected it came so fast to Malaysia.

Due to the high crude oil price world wide, Tomy cars imported from Japan are unavoidable affected. We have enjoyed the low price for many years, now is the time we need to pay for the “real” price.

Conversely, if you already collected a lot of stocks earlier, your collection will also increase value as the result, thus higher profit. YeoCP//

Featured Car: Honda Civic Type R

This has been my most wanted collection from Tomica, Honda Civic Type R. The car was introduced in 2007 but it went out of stock immediate it was displayed.

I was hunting it up and down until I have to get it from oversea. It cost me higher but no choice due to market availability.

The red emblem can clearly seen at the both front and back of the car, especially the red R explains its Racing DNA. The red does not just end here, you must open the front bonnet to see its red header engine. YeoCP//

Hotwheels: No New Wave Until July 2008

This is a picture from my desk. Today, I managed to speak to one of the Mattel Merchandise during my hunting. He mentioned, most of the retailers are very cautious in placing new orders. The new delivery to major chained stores will only make available at July.

I’m not surprised by this, we have been talking on US subprime problems for so long but only now we felt the impacts. US had gone into recession, now is our time for Malaysia.

So, what does it have to do with us? During slow moving markets, everything will be more expensive. This is due to the pressure from high raw materials cost and high Interest rates at that time. Your fixed rice may cost you almost doubled and iced chinese tea at RM1.

The situation will turn worst when introduce new petrol price on quarter 3, you will need to prepare to pump at RM3.92 per liter. However, you may enjoy cheaper car price on the reverse of the adjustment.

By knowing this, please make yourself ready for the tough scenario. But if you still have the spending power, you will find all the rare cars are not rare anymore. Maybe, Super T-hunt. YeoCP//

Featured Car: Tomica Hummer H2

Generally Tomica produces Japanese car, it is quite rare to see American cars in Tomica series. Hummer H2 is one of those rare production licensed by GM.

Compare to other Tomica cars, this H2 is a lot more detailed. Especially on the front grill, look carefully, there is a fine Hummer word printed at the middle.

You may ask why so unique about this car, it simply better quality compared to other cars in the Tomica collection. Whether you like it or not, it is already very rare to get in the market. YeoCP//
