Last 5 days before the Shell Ferrari promotion end on 11th May. Have you completed your set together with the garage?
From my observation, most of the Shell station still have plenty of stocks, perhaps the market response will not disappointing Shell before we can expect the other new promotion next year.
For me, still looking for the 360 GTC to complete my 3rd set. Have been "pumping" hard to collect 21 of them, anyway 5 days to go, finger crossed. YeoCP//

Shell Velocita 3 - Shell Ferrari 2009 Promotional Video
I found this in YouTube, a promotional video clip for latest Shell Ferrari models uploaded by OgilvyShell. Ogilvy, a International advertising, marketing and public relations agency founded in 1948.
The video clip demonstrates the model cars and the playmat which will available later. It is really fun to see how the boy control his car running through obstacle towards the finish line.
The playmat is really tempting, and something "must have" together with the touch steering cars. ☺YeoCP//

I found this Advertisement while I uploading my small clip into Youtube. A 2 minutes Shell Ferrari Advertisement uploaded a year ago.
The advert demonstrate the evolution of the Shell Ferrari F1 cars for the pass 60 years. In the ad, generations F1 cars run across the Cities until Michael pit stop at the Shell Station.

Review: Shell Ferrari 2009 430 Scuderia
My review on the Shell Ferrari 2009 430 Scuderia for my beginning of my 3 series Shell Ferrari collection.
The model packaged in the paper box with nice graphics front and back. The Ferrari in scale 1:38, which very much larger than the ordinary 3" Hot Wheels series we are collecting.

The Ferrari Official Hologram recognises the models as authorised by Ferrari.
In side the box contained a Shell Ferrari model and a instruction manual explains the control of the steering function.
The model is plastic for both it casting and base, with this it allows the Ferrari run very fast on its light weight body.
In term of detailing, the model are painted with reasonable details on the lights, emblems, and signature racing stripes. See the pictures below, every corners are well took cares.

The touch steering is operated by 2 LR44 batteries found under the model. The touch pad is where you control the direction of the car.
The pullback mechanical engine has a clip activate the commands you programmed to the model. Immediate it released, the steering will turn according to your intention after roughly 1 second delay.
The black and red colour cables connect power source to the controller board, 2 pairs of tiny wires attached into front controls the magnetic steering system left and right. The parallel springs will center the steering immediate the magnet released.
You can refer to the movie clip to see how the touch steering system operates, toward the end of the clip is a simple demonstration of the touch steering 430 Scuderia.
Verdict: It simply awesome on the technology breakthrough from the earlier series. The expectations for the next series will be definitely higher. Can't wait to see!!
I like: Fun on the touch steering system, affordable in term of price vs technology and quality. Of course, it is a Ferrari.
I dislike: Some confusion on the touch pad (left is right, right is left), it took me a while to get used to it. Missing the Vrooom vroom sound, isn't good have both?

Shell Ferrari models returned
Started from 3rd this month, Shell returned with the Shell Ferrari models produced by Hot Wheels. This is the 3rd series specially made for Shell in a row with end only 11 May.
I have to drive hard to empty my tank filled up a day before the promotion was announced. Only until today managed to get my 1st Shell Ferrari with touch steering.
As similar to the 1st 2 years promotion, customers with refilled above RM40.00 will entitle to get the models at RM6.90 for V-Power, RM8.90 for Super or Diesel.
Not all the models are available on first period of promotion. At present, only 430 Scuderia, FXX Evoluzione, 599 GTB Fiorano, 612 Scaglietti, and 360 GTC are available for your selection.
Limited Edition 2008 F1 Ferrari model and Ferrari ENZO model with Dual Speed pullback only after 17th March.
Helix Engine old customers are entitled to purchase one yellow Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano model with Dynamic Engine Sound and one Ferrari 430 Scuderia model with Touch Steering with purchases of Shell Helix engine oil for, RM6.90 with purchases of Helix Ultra, HX7 or HX7 Diesel and RM8.90 with purchases of Helix HX5.
Together with the launch of the limited edition models, the 2009 Collector Garage and Playmat will also available for purchase. The Garage is larger and nicer this year with the same price of RM60.00, 3 layers arrangement to showcase your beloved Ferrari.
Conversely, I have no details on the playmat for its selling price. See picture below, the playmat just excellent to play with your Ferrari cars with the touch steering function. There is a Start and Finish line to race your Ferrari with 2 pam stations as barricade, you need to program it to drive "safely" toward the finish line.
Bottom Line:
I really did not expect of the release of the Ferrari models after the James Bond promotion.
The Shell Ferrari cars are something we should looking forward every year from Shell. As collector from 1st two series, I can't find any good reasons to skip it the series this year. When the promotion ended, you will find yourself regret.
The garage is something must have to complete and showcase the collection, you can't find any display case better than the original with the price of RM60.00 (Share with me if you found it).

Hot Wheels Grand Prix Ferrari F2000 (Metallic) is collectible
If you also support F1 Ferrari Team just like me, you should consider to have these Hot Wheels Grand Prix Ferrari F2007 1/64 collection.
The model is relatively more detailed than the earlier production. Besides the car number, driver's helmet also painted in different colour to differentiate the driver. Felipe Massa with No.5 car yellow helmet and Kimi Raikkonen No.6 car in black helmet. Both drivers' autograph are also printed on the card.
In addition to the normal Ferrari Red F1 cars are produced, 1 more variance colour in Metallic Red are collectible item. Both are selling at RM16.90, but the Metallic version already 5 fold in ebay.
Not many outlets carry this range of collection, please get a set for yourself if you see any. Cheers, YeoCP//

Shell-Ferrari model cars end today
For those who still plan to collect your Shell-Ferrari cars will need to do it quick, the promotion will end today (12th May 2008).
Out of the seven Ferrari cars, my personal preference is this 599 GTB. Maybe it is due to it's colour is different from the rests.
I managed to get 4 GTBs in my collection, i think most of collectors were noticed GTB and FXX is always out of stock. YeoCP//
